Herbal Medicine in Mexico
Herbal medicine, deeply rooted in Mexico’s rich biodiversity and cultural history, is a prevalent form of traditional medicine used for a wide range of ailments. Many Mexican communities rely on local healers—known as curanderos—and herbalists to access and prepare natural remedies passed down through generations. While some of these plants have shown promising effects in modern scientific research, there are still important considerations regarding their safety, dosage, and interactions with conventional medicine.

Día de la Candelaria, also known as Candlemas, is a beloved Mexican holiday celebrated on February 2nd, marking the close of the Christmas season and commemorating the presentation of the Baby Jesus at the temple. A cherished tradition stems from Rosca de Reyes, the sweet bread enjoyed on Three Kings Day (January 6th): whoever finds the Baby Jesus figurine hidden inside is responsible for hosting a feast of tamales and atole on Candelaria. Families also lovingly dress their Niño Dios (Baby Jesus figurines) in elaborate outfits and take them to church for a special blessing, blending faith, family, and festivity in a uniquely Mexican way.DIA DE LA CANDELARIA -2 FEBRERO
